This has been a favourite photo shoot that I've done recently, and has been close to my heart. There is something so magical, so raw and just so surreal about not only witnessing a nurturing bond between mother and child, but also being witness and capturing this moment in time.

Thank you Sam, and thank you precious Aurora for allowing me to not only be your photographer, but for allowing me to be present during your nurturing moments, I will forever hold this experience close to my heart as a photographer and as a woman.

I’ve written this to Aurora-

"Precious girl, one day when you have a baby I want you to know that if you can breastfeed it’s the hardest, most wonderful experience.

The day you were born, you latched almost immediately once you found my boob... the next few days were torture as we both learned to latch properly. My boobs were bruised, my nipples blue and bleeding. We persisted... and it seemed to get easier, everyday we took time to learn this new skill together, every day we relaxed a little more and every day it became more natural to us. I am so grateful that we stuck it out... when I was pregnant I’d hoped to be able to feed you for six months, that was the goal. I can’t actually imagine our lives without breastfeeding, it’s helped us with so many situations. An entire lifetime of snuggling into my bosom, for food, your sole form of nutrition for the first six months... for comfort, whether you’re feeling tired or upset, or not feeling well. Hospital trips, airplane journeys, car rides... we’ve breastfed anywhere and everywhere. People often ask “are you still breastfeeding?” And I’m so proud to say yes, it’s been the greatest, most wonderfully intimate time for us and I hope to continue as long as we both can"
